Attic insulation r-value in Watford City, ND

Hi Khof,
Your place is in climate zone #7 so you need a vapor barrier under the insulation (if it’s an existing structure you may already have this installed). There are two options:
  • Insulated sheathing with R-value = 10 over 2x4 wall (frame)
  • Insulated sheathing with R-value = 15 over 2x6 wall (frame)
