The min. size of a chimney liner I can install

I live in N.J. and have a 175000 btu gas boiler and a 40,000 btu water heater a 24 foot high chimney what is the min. size liner I can install?

Hi Bill,

Since you didn’t provide all the required information for those calculations (type of appliances – fan assisted / natural draft, type of connectors – single wall / double wall, connectors rise) I can’t provide you with the diameter.

However, you can use Gama Tables by following this link – http://www.xpedio.carrier.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/58dfa-9si.pdf. Go to page 7 (most likely), pick your installation type, go to page 20 for an example, and pick the appropriate table (most likely 7 or 8).
