Can ventilation exhaust fan be installed directly over a bathtub/ shower 2.5" x 60?"

Can ventilation exhaust fan be installed to MN code directly over a bathtub/shower area 30"w x 59"l x 96"h that has a 16" partition extending down  from the ceiling?

Hi Otto,

There are two requirements governing bathroom exhaust fan installation over the tub or shower  stall and they are both issued by the manufacturers of those devices not the building or electrical code (unless there is some exception in your particular jurisdiction).
  1. An exhaust fan must be listed for installations directly above the bathtub and / or shower stall
  2. An exhaust fan installed in such location must be installed on a GFCI protected circuit.
