Gas water heater vent clearances

What is the required distance from water heater vent to window or door?

Hi Gordon-Lewis,

You can follow this link - gas appliance chimney clearances - and click on the two pictures in that article. Natural draft water heater vent termination (or any other natural draft type gas burning appliance) must be located at least 8' from any vertical surface (it applies to doors and / or windows that might be installed in that surface) or it must extend at least 2 feet above the roof placed over that wall.
