My old power vented water heater is leaking and I need to replace it, the problem is no one has a short power vented water heater on hand must be ordered and will take up to two weeks to get. Can I use a reg. gas water heater and hook up to my existing power vent?

Hi Jay,
Unfortunately you cannot use a natural draft water heater with a power vent motor and a PVC vent pipe. It has to be designed for the power vent feature. You can contact its manufacturer and ask if they have any water heater models that can be retrofitted / adapted for such installation but I doubt it. Sorry…
