I have an old sears garage door opener that does not have sensors to stop the door from going down. Is there an after market sensor device that I can buy and install without replacing the entire door opener?

Hi Smiley,
Unfortunately if the garage door opener hasn’t been designed for the safety sensors installation it cannot be retrofitted. Garage door opener safety sensors are controlled by a circuit board that controls the motor and reverses it as soon as the light beam is broken. You’ll have to upgrade to a new garage door opener…
